I am a Harvard-trained Clinical Psychologist specializing in psychological and neurocognitive assessment (testing & evaluation), and individual psychotherapy / treatment for adults (18+) who may be struggling in different areas of their lives. My evaluation consultations may be useful to clients and their medical providers as a means of informing treatment and clarifying diagnosis - for example, to determine whether someone is experiencing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or other cognitive / learning issues; Executive Functioning, Memory, and/or Attention / Processing impairments; Mood Disorders (e.g., depression vs. bipolar disorder); Anxiety Disorders (e.g., generalized anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, etc.); Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); Personality Disorders; Psychotic Disorders, etc. These assessments may also be useful in identifying factors that are contributing to impulsivity, irritability, and/or mood instability. Likewise, I also provide individual psychotherapy / psychological treatment services for people who are experiencing difficulties across different parts of their lives.
I have a breadth of experience in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency room settings; and clinical interests in the assessment and treatment of a broad range of psychopathology. I also maintain an active clinical research program in the areas of psychological and neuropsychological assessment, psychometrics and scale development, suicide and violence risk, terrorism and political violence, and treatment outcome. This research has led to over 50 peer-reviewed publications in professional journals, 7 textbook chapters, and 5 books; and has been featured by a number of news outlets including CBS Nightly News, the New York Times, The Boston Globe, and CBS Newsradio Los Angeles.
